April 1st, 2010 - We will be moving tales outside to celebrate this beautiful weather! Come down and experience the finished Streetscape project and enjoy the amenities of Downtown Brookings.
We are also hard at work on expanding the coffeehouse farther back in the building. We plan to add about fifty additional seats as well as the ability to host events, business meetings, private parties, bands, etc. We'll let you know when we get closer to a completion date.
August 31st, 2009 - The Bistro has expanded the dinner services to Tuesday through Saturday. You now have three more nights per week to experience the Bistro's amazing menu and hand-selected beer and wine list. Reservations are recommended, but not required. Also make sure to contact us to get on the Wine Club mailing list so that you can get a spot at the next meeting!
June 11th, 2009 - Our sister store, Cottonwood Bistro, is now open for dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings. Please stop by soon to try the amazing new menu as well as the exceptional, unique beer and wine list. If you know how great our coffees are, expect even more from what we have to offer in the evening. We are extremely excited to be able to provide another needed amenity to our community.
October 26th, 2008 - People often ask us why we don't roast our own coffee. The simple response is that roasting takes years to master and is best left to experts. It also requires a serious commitment in equipment and time. We have spent years tasting and researching roasters in order to bring our customers the best possible product. We are happy to share in the victory of Roaster of the Year with our roaster, PT's Coffee of Kansas City. This highly prestigious award is presented by Roast magazine and has been bestowed on some of the most acclaimed roasters in the world. So, congratulations to PTs and congratulations to our customers for knowing where to get the best coffee around.

February 11th, 2008 - There is no particular reason for a news update other than the fact that we have not had one in ages. The Cottonwood Bistro is now open at Brickwood Plaza! Current (temporary) hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 7am to 2pm. www.cottonwoodbistro.com
We are still always on the look out for new applicants, bands annd artists. Please be in touch if you fit any of these descriptions!
May 8th, 2007 - Cottonwood Coffee was honored with the Mayor's Award for Excellence in Historic Preservation for a Commercial Interior! Now we have a shiny plaque to hang on the wall. It certainly was an honor to be thought of for the award. We feel it is another manifestation of the great support and friendship we have found in Brookings.
Employment - Cottonwood Coffee is looking for a few energetic, talented people to work as baristas. Beyond working with great people, you'll have flexible hours and be learning a valuable art form. Make sure to get ahold of Jacob so you can fill out an application. We plan to get the apps up online in the near future and we'll also be advertising in the Brookings paper. If you can't find Jacob at the store, try 254-2908.
Bands and artwork - We are also looking for local talent to decorate the walls and fill the store with melodic uphoria. If you paint, draw or take pictures, contact Jacob and arrange to get your art in Cottonwood Coffee for everyone to see. If you play music that would suit a coffeehouse setting, also contact Jacob to see if we can get you in.
